Our Basement Flooded!!!!

We went to pull weeds in our garden and when we were done we saw black clouds just pouring rain. When we got home I went and checked our basement windows to make sure nothing was flooding and when I went down the stairs I heard the horrid sound of a waterfall COMING FROM OUR BASEMENT WINDOW!!! Oh yeah the trials of life!!!!!

Cozy Cow Field Trip

Britain had his last field trip for the year. I got some cute pictures so I thought I would share them. We had a great time. We saw them milk cows and got to try some fresh milk and cheese curds. We also got to pet some animals. It has been a great year with Brit, he has grown so much and learned more than I knew was possible. Just ask him some time to name the continents and oceans. He really loves his teacher Mrs. Czapenski and we will miss her next year. I don't know what I will do with all my free time next year with both kids in all day school. It will be a new adventure!

Our Garden

Our church has farm land and has been really encouraging gardens so they are letting members plant a garden. We are so excited. We have two rows, we didn't use it all because it was really long. We planted cucumber, green peppers, green onions, tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, habenero peppers, 3 different types of squash, pumpkins, carrots, peas and carrots. I think that is it, we have no idea what we are doing. So we will either have it all die or have more than we know what to do with. If nothing else we will have time together as a family tending to our garden. Stay tuned to see what happens!

Aspen's Christa Mcauliffe Doll

Aspen's last project for school was making a bottle doll. They had to choose from certain historical characters and she picked Christa Mcauliffe. Ryan said he wanted to help her do it so they could have some father daughter time. But let's just say Aspen wanted to dress her as a princess and we thought she should be an astronaut so she wasn't to thrilled. Hopefully someday she will appreciate the time with Ryan.

Happy Mother's Day

“Motherhood,” they wrote, “is near to divinity. It is the highest, holiest service to be assumed by mankind. It places her who honors its holy calling and service next to the angels.” (Next to the Angels, Elder Russell M. Nelson, Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles)

I am so grateful to be able to be a mother!!! Though some days I think what did I do to myself. I really think it is like holding a mirror in front of yourself and you see all of the good, bad and the ugly habits you have. The thing I love is that they love me unconditionally. They make me smile and sometimes they make me want to pull my hair out and run out the door screaming. It has been a big learning experience for me and I have grown in ways I never could have without being a mother. To me mother = self-less love and sometimes I just feel like being selfish. What I can't believe is that they truly are a piece of your heart that is walking around and you have no control, you either suffer or feel elated at mistakes or victories. I look back at my own mother who did it all by herself I can't believe how hard she must have worked. I am very grateful that Heavenly Father allowed me to be the Shepperd of these beautiful souls and I pray everyday that I will be their ANGEL and not mess them up too bad. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL!!!

Black Eye

I told you Ryan is a bad abusive guy (kidding). I had eye torture, I mean eye surgery on Tuesday, April 28th. Previously, I had written about the bump on my eye. Well it never went away so I went in to have it drained. Let's just say when a Dr. asks you if you had a natural labor two times and asks if you want a hand to hold or a ball to squeeze, you might be in trouble! It was super uncomfortable, he gave me about 2 or 3 shots on top of my lid which just burned and then about 2 or 3 more shots underneath my lid. Then scrapes everything out and you could hear the scrapping. It was not fun and I shouldn't have driven myself home even though they said I could. What an experience hope to never do that again. So here is a beautiful picture of the results. PRETTY HUH!
