Britain's Field Trip to the Zoo 2010

Brit's favorite buddies Jay and Colebren

The group we hung out with Justin, Colebren, Britain, Jay, Nathaniel and Ridge

What started out as a snowy cold day ended up to be a good day at the zoo. We had lots of fun walking around with Britain's friends. I was only in charge of Britain and his friend Colebren but the boys all ended up sticking together. I love taking pictures and I think I got some good ones of Britain and all his friends. At the end of the day we found out that one of our buses broke down so Britain ended up riding home with me and Jenn Laycock and her daughter Ella, that was nice to be able to have him with me in the car. I love to be with Britain he always makes me laugh. I am glad I could go with him and share this experience.

Aspen Volleyball 2010

Aspen had fun doing volleyball with her friend Abby. It took her a little while to get the hang of serving. Her last game of the season was awesome she really got it and was doing great serves and vollies. At the last game her coaches had everyone stand on a chair and told a little bit about them. They said Aspen was the diva of the team with attitude. Kind of describes Aspen right on, sad but true. The one picture were Aspen has a confused look they said she was one of the quietest in the beginning, but all the girls on the team were like no she wasn't. It was fun and Aspen can't wait to do it again.

My Beautiful Children

I never have my picture taken because I am usually behind the camera. I asked Ryan to take one of the kids and I so they know they have a mommy.

Aspen's Field Trip to the Museum 2010

I went with Aspen on her 4th grade field trip to the Denver Museum on Thursday, April 15th. I had a great time being with Aspen and her friends. 4th grade girls are so funny and fun to be around. I forgot to charge my camera battery so I didn't get any pictures, that has kind of been my life since I started working. The best part was the health exhibit we laughed so hard when Aspen did the aging machine. It was a great day and I am so glad I can do these field trips with my children, what a great blessing.

Battle of the Books 2010

The Book Chics
Alyssa, Kaley, Shannon, Aspen and Abby
Frontier was invited to do the Battle of the Books this year. Aspen really wanted to do it so I signed on to be the coach. We met every week going over questions that would be asked in the competition. The girls read and read and read. We all had a great time. When the day of our school competition came one of our girls Aliyah couldnt be there, we were very sorry to not have her there that day. There were 5 teams competing and only two could go to district were all of Disctrict 6 would compete. One team got all the answers right on the first round and on the second round it came down to our team and one other team and we lost by one question. The girls were all disappointed, more than I expected. Everyone couldn't get throught all the books so I assigned different books to each girl and the questions we missed were read by Aliyah are missing player. Oh well thats the way it goes there is always next year. I was proud of all the girls they worked so hard and I cant wait to see what they do next year.

Easter 2010

Easter Egg hunt

Easter Baskets

Monster Easter Eggs

Dyeing Easter Eggs

It was an interesting Easter this year. I was sick for two weeks and not feeling good so I came down for the Easter hunt indoors but pretty much stayed in bed for the rest of the day. Ryan on the other hand made a wonderful ham dinner, dyed eggs with the kids and did an Easter hunt for the kids outside. We also had an incident were I guess the Easter Bunny failed to bring the toy Britain wanted so we had to have a lesson in being grateful. Oh well I guess not all holidays are perfect but it ended well thanks to Ryan. Happy Easter!!!

Aspen singing her solo

Aspen as an Oompa loompa

At Frontier they have a great drama program. Kids from 1st grade to 5th grade can participate and everyone gets a part. The lead parts our of course reserved for the 5th graders. Aspen has had a great time participating. This is her second play at Frontier and has loved acting. But more than acting she loves to sing especially solos. So she was thrilled to get to sing a solo in this play Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. She played a character named Jane and she also got to be an Oompa Loompa. The drama club is so big they have to do two nights with two different casts. Aspen was on the second night she did a great job and we are so happy she has found a fun hobby.
